NEW YORK, Sept. 23, 2024 ~ The Appeal of Conscience Foundation, an interfaith organization dedicated to promoting religious freedom and human rights, held its 59th Annual Appeal of Conscience Awards at The Pierre Hotel in New York. The event honored two exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities and the world at large.
The first honoree was His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, the leader of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He was recognized for his unwavering commitment to inter-religious cooperation and promoting peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths. His Eminence has been a strong advocate for mutual acceptance and respect, particularly among young people, through his message of "Respect the Other."
Rabbi Arthur Schneier, President and Founder of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation, expressed his pleasure in presenting the prestigious Appeal of Conscience Award to these two exemplary individuals. He commended His Eminence for his dedication to promoting harmony and understanding among people from diverse backgrounds. Rabbi Schneier also praised Marta Batmasian, a woman of faith and a humanitarian, for her tireless efforts in championing religious freedom and philanthropy on a global scale.
