Support Your Community, and Help Riders Achieve Their Dreams!
OTHER, N.Y. - Nyenta -- Otsego County, NY – Athelas Therapeutic Riding, Inc. is excited to announce our participation in the upcoming Mohawk Valley Gives event on September 20th, 2024. This regional day of giving brings together non-profit organizations from across the Mohawk Valley area in a friendly competition to raise much-needed funds, and we are calling on our community for support.
Athelas Therapeutic Riding has been a cornerstone of our community for years, offering life-changing equine therapy to individuals of all ability levels. One of our remarkable riders, who has been with us for nearly a decade, was able to ride before she could even walk. Through our program, she developed critical core strength, helping her to take those first steps. Stories like hers are a testament to the power of equine therapy, and it's why we continue to do what we do.
However, we face significant challenges. Our outdoor arena needs new fencing to provide a safe space for more independent ride time, and our scholarship fund, which helps ease the financial burden for families with medically complicated riders, is depleted. With your support during Mohawk Valley Gives, we aim to raise $5,000 to meet these essential needs.
