NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2024 ~ Ava Energy AI Holdings, Inc. has recently announced that they have been granted a Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for their second patent. The patent, United States Patent Application No. 18/654,413, focuses on MicroGrids powering GPUs, the chips involved in global data centers.

This new patent follows Ava Energy's core patent which allows users of their Ava Energy System to convert distributed energy into compute power using their proprietary Energy Operating System (EOS) combined with GPU chips. According to Ava Energy CEO, John Andersen, "We are proud to announce a second patent for distributed compute and data centers. We believe that whether distributed data centers are powered by solar, wind, or small modular nuclear, we will be at the forefront of this technology."

Andersen also added that with this new patent, users who buy Ava can convert their electricity to compute and sell it for a much higher price than selling back to the grid. In fact, in New York, users can only sell their electricity for $0.02 per kilowatt hour (kWh) compared to selling compute for $2.66 per kWh - a more than 100-fold increase.

Ava Energy's ultimate goal is to partner with current microgrid operators in order to expand its mission of decentralizing the power grid. By using the power generated through microgrids and transforming it into compute power to be sold, Ava Energy is taking a step towards creating a more sustainable and efficient energy system.

In addition to this innovative technology, Ava Energy is also building a distributed cloud to meet the growing demand for GPUs. This will not only benefit Ava Energy but also contribute towards meeting the increasing demand for computing power.
