BOSTON, June 18, 2025 ~ Boston Globe Media, a leading media company, is proud to announce the recognition of its notable and award-winning work across several brands in its media portfolio. These include The Boston Globe, STAT, The B-Side, and Boston magazine.

Linda Henry, CEO of Boston Globe Media, expressed her joy at the recognition of their teams' remarkable work and impactful stories during a time when journalism is crucial. The Boston Globe was honored with three New England Emmy® Awards for its innovative use of video in amplifying its renowned journalism. The winning entries were recognized in various categories such as Societal Concerns-News for the short-form video "Anxious? Lonely? Disconnected? Blame the post-pandemic 'human doom loop.'" Another award was received in the News Promotion category for "Why didn't anyone stop the Lewiston shooter?" In addition, the former Boston Globe Today show won in Politics and Government for "Breaking Down the Ballot Questions."

Boston Globe Media also celebrated an Emmy® win in Societal Concerns - Long Form Content category for the documentary "Bearing Witness: A Name & A Voice." This documentary was executive produced by Linda Henry in collaboration with Anthem Multimedia and featured former and current members of The Globe team discussing the critical importance of accountability and investigative journalism.

The Spotlight team at The Globe was recognized with a Scripps Howard Journalism Award for Best-in-the-Nation Business/Financial reporting for their investigation into Steward Health Care. This prestigious award honors outstanding work across various platforms such as visual, audio, digital, and print. Additionally, The Globe's coverage of the Sandra Birchmore case was a finalist in Local/Regional Investigative Reporting while Massachusetts Legislature State Secrets earned a finalist placement in the category of Distinguished Service to the First Amendment. This is the second consecutive year that The Spotlight newsroom has won a Scripps Howard award, with last year's Murder in Boston podcast winning for Excellence in Audio Storytelling.

STAT, another brand under Boston Globe Media, received two Scripps Howard Journalism Awards for their series "Health Care's Colossus." The series won the Excellence in National/International Investigative Reporting, the Ursula and Gilbert Farfel Prize, and the Impact Award, which is considered the highest honor among all award recipients. The judges praised STAT's use of traditional reporting methods and cutting-edge data analysis to expose how UnitedHealth profited at the expense of patients, leading to legislative reform.

The B-Side, a digital platform under Boston Globe Media, was awarded first place at the International News Media Association (INMA) 2025 Global Media Awards in New York. They won in the regional category of Best Initiative to Bolster Next-Generation Readership. The international winners were recognized for their innovative and forward-thinking strategies in various industry topics such as digital features, subscriptions, and artificial intelligence. The B-Side team was commended for its ambitious multiplatform strategy that delivers Boston Globe Media's journalism to a young audience through a daily newsletter and social media.

Boston magazine also received recognition at the 40th annual National City and Regional Magazine Awards (CRMA) competition held during CRMA's annual conference in Denver. They won the General Excellence award for the largest circulation division. Judges praised their ambition, energy, and love for Boston evident on every page of their magazine. Additionally, they won first place in Feature Design for "A Nuts-and-Bolts Guide to Boston's AI Revolution" and top honors for best Food or Dining Section with "Beacon."
