NEW YORK, April 24, 2024 ~ On April 25th, the nation's oldest gun violence prevention organization, Brady, will be hosting its annual Brady Action Awards. This event will honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the movement to end gun violence in America. The evening will be hosted by director and comedian Judd Apatow, who was one of the original signatories of the viral "Show Gun Safety" open letter signed by leading Hollywood creators.

Brady President Kris Brown expressed her excitement for the event, stating that it is a celebration of those who understand the organization's approach of "taking action, not sides" in order to create a safer America. Brown also emphasized that gun violence is a public health issue and not a political one.

Apatow also shared his thoughts on working with Brady and their mission to end gun violence. He stated that while he often makes movies that highlight the horrors of the world, he believes that as a country, we can do better. Apatow praised Brady for their work in shifting American culture towards saving lives and stressed that changing laws alone will not solve the issue; we must also change our hearts and minds.
