~ New Rochelle, NY- The City of New Rochelle celebrated Women's History Month and honored its senior residents and members of the Hugh Doyle Senior Center at its HerStory event on April 4, 2024. The event, held at Greentree Country Club, was a day filled with activities including a brunch, music, vendors, a fashion show, flower arranging station, and raffles for gifts and services from local businesses.

The highlight of the event was the fashion show where 11 senior models from different areas of New Rochelle took to the runway. Among them was 86-year-old Bea Paschuti who represented the city's diverse community. Each model showcased outfits that were personally meaningful to them and shared their stories about what makes them feel beautiful and empowered in pre-recorded videos that played as they made their runway debuts.

The models were pampered with hair and makeup from Nick's New Hair Design while being escorted by New Rochelle city leaders including Acting City Manager Adam Salgado, Police Commissioner Rob Gazzola, Fire Commissioner and Chief Andy Sandor, and Buildings Commissioner Paul Vacca. Araceli Flowers Shop provided flowers for the event while DJ Fuego kept the atmosphere lively with music.
