Three Generations of Innovation Take Albuquerque's Z-CoiL From Local Roots to National TV
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Nyenta -- Z-CoiL Footwear, a family-owned company based in Albuquerque and known for its patented pain-relief shoes, will be featured on the season premiere of ABC's hit show Shark Tank on Wednesday, September 24, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The pitch will be presented by Andres Gallegos, President & CEO of Z-Tech, Inc. (dba Z-CoiL), and his daughter, Lindley Gallegos Bach, General Manager, making it a rare father–daughter duo in the Tank.
Z-CoiL was founded by Andres' father, Alvaro Z. Gallegos, who invented the first spring-loaded orthopedic shoe in 1991. Now 94 years old and still living in Albuquerque, Alvaro's vision was to create footwear that reduces impact and helps people live pain-free. His mission lives on in Z-CoiL, which has sold more than a million pairs worldwide.

For more than 30 years, Z-CoiL has been helping customers find relief from conditions such as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, arthritis, sciatica, and chronic back pain. The shoes feature a visible conical coil in the heel that reduces impact by up to 50%, a built-in orthotic for stability, and a rocker-bottom sole that promotes a natural stride. It's a game-changer that allows you to walk further, stand longer, and enjoy life on your feet without being slowed down by pain or fatigue, keeping you active longer.
With its upcoming appearance on Shark Tank, Z-CoiL is seeking investment to expand awareness and bring its unique footwear technology to more people in need. The company is offering new customers a 14-Day Risk-Free Trial, free two-way shipping, and a 90-day workmanship warranty — making it easy for anyone to experience the benefits of Z-CoiL shoes.
"This is more than just a business pitch — it's the continuation of a family mission to change lives," said Andres Gallegos, President & CEO. "We're proud to represent our family, our hometown of Albuquerque, and our loyal customers on the Shark Tank stage."
