NEW YORK - Nyenta -- WHO: Grand Marshals - Eduardo Vilaro, Artistic Director and CEO, Ballet Hispanico, Heidi Latsky of Heidi Latsky Dance and DJ Rich Medina, will join Greg Miller, Executive Director, Dance Parade New York, Jamila Holman, Main Stage organizer, dance groups along with New York City Councilmember Carlina Rivera, and Ariel Palitz, Snr. Executive Director, NYC Office of NightLife
WHAT: Dance Parade New York Press Conference
WHERE: Steps of New York City Hall (entrance Murray and Broadway)
WHEN: Wednesday, May 18, 2022, 12 Noon
WHY: To inform the press, public and officials about features of New York City's largest dance event - the 16th Annual Dance Parade and Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 21, 2022.
The press conference will begin with performances from dancers with Ballet Hispanico School of Dance and Heidi Latsky Dance. These performances will happen without amplified sound. Followed by remarks from City Councilmember Carlina Rivera, Dance Parade's Greg Miller with the Mayoral Proclamation declaring May 21 Dance Parade Day, followed by remarks by Ariel Palitz, Senior Executive Director, Office of NightLife, and other comments.

At this year's parade and festival, we will celebrate our 16th year under the theme "Back to the Streets" Grand Marshals Eduardo Vilaro, Heidi Latsky and Rich Medina will lead out 10,000 dancers from 160+ dance organizations who will present over 100 unique styles of dance down Broadway through Union Square and across Saint Marks to our Grand Stand in Astor Place before reaching the end in Tompkins Square Park.
Press Conference performance by Pa'lante/Ballet Hispanico La Academia Pre-Professional students will perform Sevillanas choreographed by Ms. JoDe Romano. Names of the dancers who will be performing include: Abigail Satzman, Alicia Robles, Ilyana Garcia, Julia Gray, Kiana Nuñez, Natalia Ramos, Ruby Castillo, Simone Levenson, and Violet Lynch.
