Auto Know How Workshops, empowering drivers, and creating jobs

QUEENS, N.Y. - Nyenta -- Empowering Drivers, Creating Jobs, and Changing the Culture of Auto Know How Across the Borough

Flushing, NY – June 16, 2025 — What began as a movement to empower women is now a borough-wide initiative creating jobs, safer roads, and smarter drivers. The Drivers Auto Know program, originally launched as Women Auto Know, is proud to announce the graduation of its first class of certified Trainers.

The public is invited to attend the Graduation Ceremony on Monday, June 30 at 5:30 PM at Great Bear Auto Repair, 164-16 Sanford Ave, Flushing, NY, to celebrate these community leaders who will be bringing hands-on car care workshops to auto shops across Queens.

This graduation marks a major milestone in the expansion of Auto Know Workshops, which are now being hosted at Pledged Auto Repair shops committed to the DAK Pledge—a promise to:
  • Educate, Not Intimidate
  • Show and Tell
  • Tell, Not Sell
  • Service, Not Sales

"This isn't just about car maintenance. It's about creating informed, confident drivers, making our streets safer, and opening doors to new career opportunities in our communities," says Audra Fordin, founder of the program and owner of Great Bear Auto Repair.
