Moves Her from Cult Indie Artist Towards the Mainstream as She Resigns Her Song Catalog to BMG Rights Management

NEW YORK - Nyenta -- The summer of 2022 is proving to be a very successful one for Denise Marsa. As reviews for FLOAT surface, journalists are agreeing, "There's a lot of buzz around Denise Marsa right now, and rightly so." Many years ago, Denise played in the mainstream arena. She was young and naïve, expecting the fame and glory to continue and knowing little about the music business and the challenges she'd face. When she realized the inequalities and vulnerability of a young female musician such as herself, she focused on her songwriting. She closed herself off in her home studios as she went from publishing deals in London to Los Angeles and then back to New York, where it all started. Now, with BMG Rights Management re-signing her to an administration deal, Denise's catalog represents over four decades of music, starting in the mid-70s and continuing into the present. She has written and recorded over 100 songs, having so far released 28 through her label KeyMedia Group. Her first release started with "SELF" in 1998, and her current single "FLOAT" has gained the most attention so far of any of her tracks, in large part due to its animated music video "The Cowgirl & The Alien", which she co-directed with motion graphic designer Karolina Tyszkowska. Though she is not seeing millions of views, she is seeing numbers over thirty thousand since the video's release a few months ago on June 3rd, and for Denise, that means her work is finally being heard. Two other tracks on YouTube that Denise has performed on have dozens of videos posted with over 12 million views combined; however, "FLOAT" is one of her most rewarding triumphs. Her unshaken faith in her work is paying off, and perhaps she is getting better with age. This is a rare instance in the music business, though another mature artist is currently making big waves—Kate Bush, who just happens to be Denise's biggest influence over the years.
