BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Nyenta -- KidSpirit announces the launch of 15 Years of KidSpirit, a print anthology featuring outstanding articles, short stories, poetry, reviews, and artwork created by and for 11-to-17-year-olds.
As the only youth-led platform for building community through life's big questions, KidSpirit is celebrating its fifteenth year as a nonprofit online magazine. Over the last fifteen years, hundreds of kids from over 20 states and 35 countries have collaborated to share their voices with readers across the globe.
15 Years of KidSpirit features pieces selected by the editors as exemplifying KidSpirit's mission to explore meaningful topics in an open and collaborative mindset. The volume begins with 32 award-winning pieces from the 2022 KidSpirit Awards, which were selected by youth editors around the world. The book also showcases award-winning content from the previous four years, followed by a sampling of content published in KidSpirit's first decade. Readers will discover global voices on over thirty youth-chosen themes. Writers and artists included in the volume hail from across the United States, as well as Australia, Pakistan, India, Taiwan, Puerto Rico, China, Haiti, Ukraine, Paraguay and elsewhere.

Each issue of KidSpirit revolves around a Big Question posed by the editors and responded to by one youth contributor. From explorations of topics that particularly impact teens, to essays on major questions that affect us all, this department provides a window into the lives of young people both near and far. The volume also offers inspiring personal stories of transformation, eye-opening expository investigations of meaningful topics, powerful poetry, and more.
KidSpirit also publishes a column called PerSpectives, which is authored by adults and features wisdom on each theme written by an expert in the field. 15 Years of KidSpirit contains award-winning pieces by Nobel Peace Laureate, Leymah Gbowee, best-selling author and Buddhist meditation teacher, Lama Surya Das, psychologist and anxiety expert, Jennifer Shannon, and computational neuroscientist, Dr. Anil Seth.
This book is a rich resource for families, educators, and youth workers looking for meaningful content and discussion starters, and is a great addition to school libraries. KidSpirit has received 17 awards to date, and been recognized by a rare blend of journalistic, parenting, and educational organizations.
