NEW YORK, April 16, 2024 ~ In a joint effort to increase organ, eye, and tissue donation awareness and education, LiveOnNY and the National Association of Health Services Executives New York Regional Chapter (NAHSE NYR) have announced a strategic collaboration. As the federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) for the NY Metro region, LiveOnNY is responsible for serving nearly 100 donor hospitals.
With a shared goal of improving healthcare outcomes and increasing access to lifesaving treatments, this partnership between LiveOnNY and NAHSE NYR is expected to make significant strides in advocating for organ donation. "It is an honor to work with The National Association of Health Services Executives to further our mission of saving and enhancing lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation," said Leonard Achan, RN, MA, ANP, President and CEO of LiveOnNY.
Founded in 1968, NAHSE is a non-profit association of Black healthcare executives with a mission to promote the advancement and development of Black health care leaders. They also strive to elevate the quality of healthcare services provided to minority and underserved communities while increasing minority representation in the health-related industries.

The collaboration between LiveOnNY and NAHSE NYR represents a significant step forward in advancing organ donation initiatives. It highlights the importance of collaboration in addressing complex healthcare challenges. "To be successful, we rely not only on our internal efforts but also on collaboration with similar organizations, institutions of higher education, and healthcare entities who share our vision," said Steve Phillips, MPH, President of NAHSE NYR.
Both organizations are dedicated to promoting community-based events that focus on health-related issues. By joining forces with LiveOnNY, NAHSE NYR hopes to continue their mission by working towards increasing organ donation rates.
