NEW YORK, Aug. 12, 2024 ~ M&T Bank, a leading financial institution listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: MTB), has recently announced the appointment of Lopa Kolluri as the new Head of Affordable Housing Lending. In this role, Kolluri will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Affordable Housing vertical within M&T's Commercial Bank. This includes developing strategies, implementing operational processes, and ensuring top-notch customer service for affordable housing clients.

According to Timothy Gallagher, Head of Commercial Real Estate at M&T Bank, this is an exciting time for the bank as they expand their presence in the affordable housing sector. He believes that Kolluri's extensive experience in both public and private sectors will be instrumental in driving their affordable housing business strategy forward and creating new opportunities for growth.

Kolluri herself is looking forward to her new role and is committed to making a meaningful impact in communities across M&T's footprint. Prior to her appointment as Head of Affordable Housing Lending, Kolluri served as Senior Vice President in M&T's Commercial Real Estate Innovation Office where she led transformation initiatives. With over 25 years of experience in affordable housing and community development, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.

Before joining M&T Bank, Kolluri held executive-level positions at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She oversaw the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) which manages over $1 trillion in insured mortgages and led a team of 2,800 employees. She also oversaw HUD's Office of Housing which includes offices for Manufactured Housing, Multifamily Housing, and Housing Counseling.

In her new role at M&T Bank, Kolluri will work closely with divisions within M&T's Community Bank and M&T Realty Capital Corporation's Affordable Housing Platform. She will report directly to Tim Gallagher and will be based in New York City.
