The implementation of recommendations from the 2022 Housing Quality Task Force report has led to a reduction in blight caused by negligent landlords.

To further address housing issues in Rochester, Mayor Evans announced additional measures such as hiring new housing code enforcement inspectors and a dedicated housing attorney to hold landlords accountable through legal action. He stated that this zero-tolerance approach has already prompted some landlords to either improve their properties or sell them off and leave the Rochester market.
