Produced by Asethic, the new single pairs two respected lyricists, Mic King and Ghostface Killah, on a record built for listeners who still value elite emceeing.

NEW YORK - Nyenta -- Some collaborations do not need a long explanation. When Mic King and Ghostface Killah share a record, expectations are already high.

On July 3, 2026, the Philadelphia-bred lyricist unveiled "COUNT ON IT," a hard-hitting new single produced by Asethic that brings together two artists whose reputations were built on sharp pens, commanding delivery, and an unwavering commitment to the craft. The record leans into soulful production, vivid storytelling, and heavyweight lyricism, offering a reminder that substance still resonates in hip-hop.

For longtime fans, the release feels like another milestone in Mic King's ongoing resurgence as King emerged during the independent hip-hop explosion of the early 2000s, quickly establishing himself as one of the underground's most respected emcees. Whether through acclaimed releases like Mike and the Fatman, Flavor Ade, and Cool-Aide or his reputation as a fearless battle rapper, he earned respect by letting the bars speak first.

That reputation translated to the stage, where King shared lineups with hip-hop royalty including Wu-Tang Clan, Rakim, Nas, and J. Cole. His performances became legendary among underground rap fans, particularly his blindfold freestyle routine, where audience members handed him random objects that he transformed into complex, off-the-cuff rhymes.
Recently,  Mic King released a single, "Hallelujah," produced by Rakim. "COUNT ON IT" continues that momentum up until the release of his EP.

Rather than chasing trends, the record doubles down on what both artists have always done best—elite lyricism delivered with conviction. Ghostface Killah's unmistakable storytelling complements Mic King's intricate rhyme patterns, while Asethic's production provides a soulful backdrop worthy of both emcees.

King has also remained committed to hip-hop beyond the booth as co-founder of The Craft, a Brooklyn-based live event series dedicated to celebrating lyricism, live performance, and the culture that shaped generations of artists.

With "COUNT ON IT," Mic King isn't looking to recreate the past. He's showing that authentic hip-hop has never gone out of style.

"COUNT ON IT," featuring Ghostface Killah and produced by Asethic, is available July 3 on all major streaming platforms: https://foundation-media.ffm.to/countonit.
