QA Expert Daryl Guberman Exposes Systemic Failures in FAA-Boeing Oversight and Whistleblower Protection

NEW YORK - Nyenta -- In a bold exposé, QA expert Daryl Guberman unveils the underlying reasons whistleblowers face frustration and inaction when reporting issues related to Boeing and the FAA. With over 40 years of experience in quality assurance, Guberman has repeatedly highlighted how systemic alliances between regulatory bodies and major corporations hinder accountability and create hazards in critical industries.

In 2009, the FAA granted Boeing regulatory authority to self-certify its own aircraft, including new technologies like the MCAS system, which was implicated in two tragic crashes involving Ethiopian Airlines and Lion Air, killing more than 340 people. According to Guberman, this self-regulation, coupled with Boeing's relinquishment of on-site audits for over 22 years, has led to severe safety and quality issues while prioritizing profit over human lives. https://www.avweb.com/news/faa-grants-boeing-more-autonomy-on-certification/

"Boeing's decision to forego rigorous on-site audits in exchange for mere certifications was a cost-saving measure that directly endangered lives," said Guberman. "This isn't just negligence-it's systemic collusion.

Guberman also points to the close relationship between Boeing, the FAA, and ANSI-ANAB (American National Standards Institute and the American National Accreditation Board), where they all serve on the same board. He argues that this interlocking directorate prevents proper oversight and accountability. Not only do Boeing and the FAA sit on this board, but federal agencies like the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Commerce, Department of Justice, and the FDA are also members and customers of ANSI-ANAB. https://www.prlog.org/13052432-daryl-guberman-exposes-boeings-two-decade-quality-and-accreditation-scandal.html

"This is like mob-style protection," Guberman remarked. "You have the regulatory agencies in bed with the very corporations they are supposed to regulate. How can whistleblowers stand a chance when even the Department of Homeland Security is a customer of the accreditation body they are complaining about?"

In April 2024, during a DHS subcommittee hearing led by Senator Richard Blumenthal, Guberman stood up uninvited to voice his support for whistleblowers and expose the ongoing issues with Boeing's 777 and 787 aircraft. He pointed out that Boeing's abandonment of on-site auditing in favor of certification paperwork since 2009 has led to dangerous lapses in quality assurance, all while the company enjoyed significant financial savings at the expense of safety.

Guberman emphasizes that the problems are not confined to aerospace. He warns that the same accreditation bodies responsible for Boeing's certifications are also deeply involved in the medical sector, posing risks to public health globally. "This isn't just an American problem-it's a global disaster waiting to happen," he stated.

As whistleblowers continue to face barriers in exposing these systemic failures, Guberman calls for a complete overhaul of the current regulatory and accreditation framework. He believes only independent, organizations such as his own can be utilized and the removal of corporate influence in regulatory bodies can restore safety and trust in these critical sectors.
