~ New Rochelle residents can now access the 2025 Department of Public Works (DPW) collection schedule and information booklet online at NewRochelleNY.com/DPW. The booklet, which is also being mailed to all homes in the city, includes a flyer with clear instructions on recyclables, as well as important contact information for each bureau. It also provides guidelines for fall leaf and spring yard waste collections, stormwater management, sewer backups, and more.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Public Works Jessica Paladino, safety is a top priority for the DPW. She reminds residents to be mindful of their actions when it comes to garbage and recycling collection. This includes using cans no larger than 32 gallons and weighing no more than 75 lbs. Paladino also emphasizes the importance of following New York State's 'do not pass' law, which protects workers on the street. She urges drivers to slow down and not pass a vehicle while its yellow lights are engaged.
