Parks and Recreation
The City of New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Department and Volunteer New York! are excited to collaborate again for the 9th annual Parks Cleanup Weekend. On Saturday, April 26th, and Sunday, April 27th, this year's initiative spans 13 parks and offers a prime opportunity for residents to contribute to the care and improvement of neighborhood green spaces.
The annual Parks Cleanup Weekend is open to all New Rochelle community members. With a diverse array of projects, including trash removal, trail maintenance, and beautification tasks, volunteers can make a tangible difference in preparing the parks for the upcoming summer season.
Starting today, interested volunteers can register by visiting volunteernewyork.org/newrochelle or calling 914-948-4452 for additional information. An adult must accompany volunteers between 5 and 16 years old. Group and team registrations are also available. See the parks list and clean-up schedule below.
"The upcoming Earth Month cleanup weekend is a great opportunity for the community to come together and help prepare over a dozen sites for the influx of visitors during warmer months," said Parks and Recreation Commissioner Vin Parise. "Our parks and natural areas are vital for recreation, relaxation and enjoyment, and enhance the vibrancy of our City. We are thankful for the ongoing partnership that we have with Volunteer New York! and for all the community members who will lend a hand this year."

"This event is a perfect example of how volunteerism betters our neighborhoods and brings people together to create tangible impact. By rolling up our sleeves and working side by side, we are not only beautifying local parks but also fostering a spirit of service that has defined our mission for decades. What a bonus to be out in nature as spring approaches!"
