~ New Rochelle, NY - On November 7, 2024, the New Rochelle Police Department made an arrest in connection to the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Joey Valencia of New Rochelle, was taken into custody following an investigation that began when the victim was transported to the hospital while highly intoxicated and reported a possible sexual assault.
After receiving the report, detectives immediately launched an investigation and were able to confirm that a crime had indeed occurred. It was discovered that Valencia had provided alcohol to the victim, who was only 13 years old at the time.
Posing as the victim, detectives were able to make contact with Valencia and engage in communications with him. During these interactions, it was made clear to Valencia that the victim was underage. Despite this knowledge, Valencia continued to express interest in meeting up with her again, further implicating himself in the criminal activity.
Later that evening, detectives arranged a meeting with Valencia and took him into custody without incident. However, following their initial press release on November 7th regarding his arrest for this assault, additional victims came forward with crucial information that strengthened the case against Valencia and uncovered further criminal activity.
