~ Residents of New Rochelle have been warned to remain indoors with windows closed due to the poor air quality caused by wildfires in Canada. Those with respiratory conditions are advised to take extra caution when going outside, and should wear a tight-fitting mask and change clothes upon returning home. The City's active recreational facilities have been closed until conditions improve, and while passive parks are open, outdoor recreation is not recommended. Residents are also urged to monitor the health of vulnerable loved ones such as children, the elderly or those who are medically fragile. Further bulletins will be issued if necessary.
