~ New Rochelle, NY- The city is in mourning this week as they bid farewell to their former mayor, the Honorable Leonard C. Paduano. Mayor Paduano served in office from 1980 to 1991 and was known for his dedication and service to the community.

In recognition of his contributions, New Rochelle was honored as one of the nation's most "Livable Cities" by the US Conference of Mayors in 1987. Mayor Ramos-Herbert has directed the City flag to be flown at half-staff for seven days as a tribute to Mayor Paduano.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home located at 16 Shea Place in New Rochelle. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Petersville Road.

Mayor Paduano will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Kings Highway in New Rochelle. The city extends its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
