~ New Rochelle, NY - On July 20th, 2024, at approximately 11:40am, New Rochelle Police received a call reporting a male individual in distress at the building complex located at 463 Pelham Rd. Upon arrival, officers were met by a 71-year-old male resident of New Rochelle who claimed to have been assaulted by his roommate, Kathleen Ganley.

According to the victim, Ganley had physically attacked him and stabbed him multiple times. The victim also stated that Ganley had prevented him from calling for help. Both individuals sustained injuries from the altercation and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

After conducting an investigation into the incident, it was determined that Ganley was the aggressor in the dispute. It is alleged that she broke a vase over the victim's head and stabbed him multiple times before preventing him from contacting authorities.

As a result, Kathleen Ganley, 58 years old and also a resident of New Rochelle, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment. These charges fall under New York State Penal Law Sections 120.10 and 135.10 respectively.

The NRPD has assured the public that they are taking this incident seriously and will continue to investigate further as more details emerge.
