~ New Rochelle, NY - The City of New Rochelle is taking steps to improve waste management with the opening of a new facility, the Beechwood Organic Waste Transfer Station. This new facility, located at 85 Beechwood Ave, will cater specifically to commercial yard waste disposal and is set to open on September 3.
The Transfer Station will be open on weekdays from Monday to Friday, with operating hours from 8AM to 12:30PM. However, the city plans to expand these hours in the fall to better accommodate the needs of commercial landscapers.
In order to use the facility, commercial landscapers will need to obtain a permit. This permit can be obtained through an online registration process and will require several documents for verification. Once registered, landscapers will be required to weigh their materials before disposal in order to accurately charge them for the amount of debris they bring in.

To introduce this new registration process, information sessions will be held on August 5 and August 8 at City Hall from 4-6PM. Representatives from the Department of Public Works will be present at these sessions to explain the process and address any questions or concerns.
For those who have previously purchased tickets for waste disposal at City Hall, refunds will be issued for a limited time. More information about this can be found on the City's webpage at newrochelleny.com/Beechwood.
This initiative by the City of New Rochelle aims to streamline waste management processes and promote responsible disposal practices among commercial landscapers. With the opening of this new facility and implementation of a convenient online registration system, it is hoped that there will be a significant improvement in waste management within the community.
