~ New Rochelle, NY- In the early hours of June 19th, New Rochelle Police responded to a burglary report at Richie Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning on Plain Avenue. The property owner had observed a suspect attempting to steal copper from the building through a Ring Camera.
Upon arrival, officers found an open door to the basement and detected movement inside. They were able to coax the suspect, identified as 43-year-old James M. Hoch of New Rochelle, to surrender without incident. Hoch was a former employee of the business and later confessed to committing other unreported burglaries at the same location.

Hoch has been charged with second-degree burglary, possession of burglar's tools, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. The charges are classified as a felony, misdemeanor, and misdemeanor respectively under NYS Penal Law Sections 140.25, 140.35, and 220.03.
The New Rochelle Police Department is currently investigating other potential charges related to additional burglaries committed by Hoch at the same location. The suspect is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
