~ New Rochelle, NY- The City of New Rochelle celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a vibrant community event at Ruby Dee Park at Library Green on Saturday, September 21. The event, which featured an evening performance by Tito Puente Jr., marked the finale of the City's second annual Summer Sizzle Concert Series.
The festival kicked off with afternoon performances from Los Guachinangos and Grupo Elite, showcasing the diverse musical talents of the Hispanic community. Attendees were also able to browse and purchase goods from Hispanic artisans and vendors in the park and on Lawton Street, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert expressed her pride in the city's commitment to honoring diversity through events like this. "The Hispanic Heritage Festival not only celebrates the rich culture and traditions of our Hispanic community, but also promotes connection, understanding, and unity," she stated.

In addition to the musical performances and marketplace, New Rochelle's Mobile City Hall initiative was present at the event. This allowed residents to easily access information about city programs and services from the New Rochelle Fire Department.
Development Commissioner Adam Salgado highlighted the success of the Downtown Summer Sizzle series, which has brought hundreds of music lovers to downtown New Rochelle every Saturday since May. "Through music and marketplace celebrations, our Hispanic Heritage Month event offers a unique opportunity to experience the heart and soul of this wonderful community," he said.
