~ New Rochelle, NY - The City of New Rochelle has launched its 2025 workforce development program in partnership with Soulful Synergy, a workforce development agency dedicated to creating equitable and sustainable communities. The program, called New Rochelle Forward (NR Forward), aims to connect residents with certification courses, hands-on training, career readiness, and job placement services.
The program was officially launched at an open house and networking event held at NR Forward's location on Huguenot Street. Attendees had the opportunity to network with local developers and contractors about upcoming projects and hiring needs. The event also featured speeches from Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert, City Manager Wilfredo Melendez, and Development Commissioner Adam Salgado.
Mayor Ramos-Herbert emphasized the importance of preparing community members for long-term career success in order to support the city's ongoing development boom. "Through targeted training initiatives and strategic partnerships – as we are highlighting today with NR Forward and Soulful Synergy – we are preparing our community members for long-term career success, while ensuring our City has the skilled labor force needed to support continued progress," she said.
