~ New Rochelle, NY- On March 18th, 2025, a tragic auto/pedestrian accident occurred on Pinebrook Blvd and Amherst Drive. According to the New Rochelle Police Department, officers responded to a report of the accident at approximately 7:54am.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 73-year-old female pedestrian, who was walking northbound on Pinebrook Blvd, had been struck by a vehicle also traveling northbound. The New Rochelle Fire Department and ambulance personnel were called to the scene and provided aid to the victim before transporting her to a local hospital. Sadly, she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old female, remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. At this time, there are no criminal charges being filed. The names of those involved have not been released.
The New Rochelle Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the victim's family and loved ones during this difficult time. The investigation into this tragic accident is ongoing.
