~ The 2024 Juneteenth Celebration will be held at City Hall on Friday, June 21 from 5-9PM, inviting the community to join in on the festivities. The event, organized by Kingdom Community Consultants, will feature a variety of activities including musical performances, a Juneteenth Marketplace, historical presentations, educational exhibits, dance performances, and food options.

It marks the day on June 19, 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce the end of the Civil War and enforce the Emancipation Proclamation.
