~ New Rochelle, NY- As Memorial Day approaches, the City of New Rochelle is gearing up to honor and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. A series of events have been planned for the weekend to pay tribute to these fallen heroes.
On Saturday, the City's Veterans Advisory Committee will be hosting a ceremony at 9:30AM on the Hudson Park sundeck to remember those Lost at Sea. This will be followed by the annual ceremony at 11AM on Memorial Plaza, where NRPD Officer Deivy Martinez will deliver a keynote address.

The following day, volunteers from UVMPA, American Legion Post 8 and VFW Post 439 will come together to replace 3,000 flags on the graves of US servicemembers at Beechwoods Cemetery as part of the Decorations of Graves event.
On Monday, a Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at American Legion Post 8 featuring Fire Chief and veteran Andrew Sandor as the Keynote Speaker. The ceremony will also include tributes to Lee Fadem and Dr. Michael Dunn by fellow veterans. NRHS student Nia Gooden, who was crowned the 2024 American Legion Oratorical Contest Champion, will also be speaking. Attendees can enjoy a complimentary BBQ after the ceremony.
