~ As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the community is invited to come together and pay tribute to the courageous members of the military who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The weekend will be filled with meaningful ceremonies organized by various veteran organizations and the City of New Rochelle Veterans Advisory Committee.

On Sunday, May 25 at 10 AM, American Legion Post 8, VFW Post 439, and the United Veterans Memorial and Patriotic Association will host a Grave Decoration ceremony at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. This event will honor fallen soldiers by decorating their graves with flags and flowers.

The following day, Monday, May 26, a Waterside Ceremony will take place at Hudson Park at 9:30 AM. This ceremony will specifically honor those who were lost at sea. The City of New Rochelle Veterans Advisory Committee will lead this event on the Hudson Park Sundeck.

At 11:00 AM on Monday, American Legion Post 8 will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony at their location on North Avenue. The keynote speaker for this event will be NRFD Lieutenant Mike Amori. Following the ceremony, there will be a complimentary BBQ for attendees to enjoy.

These events are presented by American Legion Post 8 and VFW Post 439 as a way to honor and remember those who have served our country. All are welcome to attend and show their support for our brave military members this Memorial Day weekend.
