This week, the New York State Thruway Authority will begin a three-year construction project to replace the North Avenue bridge over I-95.
Throughout the project, the bridge will remain open, with at least one lane in each direction for vehicles. However, southbound traffic will be prohibited from making a left turn onto Garden Street, and Burling Lane will be closed from North Avenue to May Street. Pedestrians can continue using the walkway connecting Burling Lane to the train station.

We will work with the Thruway Authority to minimize impacts, but given the high volume of traffic at this location, some periodic inconvenience should be expected, so please travel carefully, use alternative routes when appropriate, and observe any posted detours.
Once completed, the new bridge will be much safer, more attractive, and more efficient for motorists and pedestrians alike.
For additional information, visit the New York State Thruway Authority website at www.thruway.ny.gov or the City website www.newrochelleny.com.
