New Rochelle: Parks & Recreation Invites Families to Create “Scarecrows on the Sound”

~ New Rochelle families and small groups are in for a treat as the Department of Parks and Recreation announces the return of "Scarecrows on the Sound" on October 12th at Davenport Park. This popular event, which was a hit last year, invites participants to create their own custom scarecrow using provided materials such as straw, hay, twine, and stakes.

From 10am to noon, families can bring their homemade scarecrow head, outfit, and accessories to Davenport Park and let their creativity run wild. The scarecrows can then be taken home or donated for display at the upcoming Fall-O-Ween event on October 25th.

This event is free for New Rochelle residents but pre-registration by email is recommended due to limited spaces.
