New Rochelle Police Department Arrests Suspect in Slashing Incident at 117 Guion Place

~ New Rochelle, NY- On April 28, 2025, at approximately 6:52 PM, a 34-year-old male was admitted to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital with a severe laceration to the left side of his face. The victim, who remains unidentified, required approximately 60 stitches for the injury. According to New Rochelle Police officers who responded to the scene, the victim was uncooperative and refused to provide any details about the incident or confirm if it occurred within New Rochelle.

Shortly after officers left the hospital, they received a call from MTA Police at Grand Central Station. The MTA Police reported that Dante Frazier, a 26-year-old resident of Cambria Heights, NY, had approached them and confessed to slashing the victim in front of 117 Guion Place. Frazier also provided the pocket knife used in the attack. Detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene where they found blood evidence on the sidewalk.

Frazier was then taken into custody and transported to New Rochelle Police Headquarters for further questioning. Through their investigation, police discovered that Frazier and the victim were acquainted and had engaged in a heated argument before Frazier allegedly slashed him in the face and fled to Grand Central Station.

The New Rochelle Police Department is continuing their investigation into this incident and is urging anyone with additional information to come forward. They can contact the department at (914) 654-2300 or anonymously at (914) 632-COPS. The department remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of their community.

Dante Frazier has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault, which is classified as a B felony under New York State Penal Law Section 120.10. He also faces charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, which is an A misdemeanor under Section 265.01 of the Penal Law.

As of now, no further information has been released about the victim's condition or the motive behind the attack. The New Rochelle Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in their investigation.
