~ New Rochelle, NY - The New Rochelle Police Department has announced that registration is now open for their upcoming Citizen Police Academy. This program, which aims to strengthen the partnership between the police department and the community, will run for ten consecutive Wednesday nights from March 12, 2025, until May 14, 2025.

The Citizen Police Academy is designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of law enforcement and the criminal justice system. Instructors from various divisions of the New Rochelle Police Department will lead the classes, including the police commissioner, division commanders, detectives, and officers.

According to officials, the goal of this program is to foster increased interaction between New Rochelle police officers and citizens. By providing insight into their operations and procedures, the department hopes to build trust and understanding within the community.

Interested individuals can obtain further information and an application by contacting P.O. Wallach of the PACT Unit at (914) 654-2320 / 2323. The deadline for applications is March 3rd on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications can also be downloaded from the NRPD website or picked up at the Police Desk located at 475 North Avenue in New Rochelle.
