~ New Rochelle Detectives have made significant progress in the investigation of the deceased juvenile found at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Charles Street on February 6, 2025. The New Rochelle Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive person at approximately 6:15 AM on Thursday, February 6. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive Hispanic male, estimated to be in his late teens or early twenties. The individual was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Jonson Temaj, 15 years of age, of New Rochelle, NY. The Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office has been notified and will conduct a thorough examination to determine the cause and manner of death.
Based on initial leads, detectives have identified two individuals who have been arrested in connection with this case. Hugo Perez-Gabriel, 32, of New Rochelle has been charged with concealment of a human corpse and endangering the welfare of a child. An unnamed juvenile, 16 years of age and also from New Rochelle, has been charged with concealment of a human corpse and possession of a forged instrument.

Investigation revealed that these two individuals removed the deceased from a nearby residence and left him on the sidewalk. The cause of death for Jonson Temaj remains undetermined at this time. Detectives are awaiting toxicology reports to provide further insight into the circumstances surrounding this incident.
