NEW YORK - Nyenta -- NEWH NY Partners with Be Bunchful to Rebuild The Living Children's Academy in The Gambia

New York, NY, February 26, 2025 – The NEWH New York Chapter, led by President Erica Puccio, announces its partnership with the Be Bunchful Foundation to rebuild The Living Children's Academy in a small village in The Gambia. This initiative addresses the urgent need for improved educational facilities, significantly impacting local children, especially young women, aligning with Black History and Women's History Months.

Students currently face considerable challenges:
  • Inadequate infrastructure
  • Broken furniture
  • Outdated materials
  • Classrooms lacking proper ceilings and flooring

These conditions severely hinder children's academic potential and aspirations, highlighting the immediate need for support from organizations dedicated to meaningful social impact.

Raquel Miller, Founder and CEO of Be Bunchful Foundation, emphasizes, "This initiative transcends merely constructing a building. We are actively building futures, dreams, and nurturing hope. Our collaboration with NEWH amplifies our efforts, providing children not just an education but lifelong success and community growth opportunities."

The initiative has garnered support from key figures, including philanthropists Elisa Tjioe, Erica Puccio, and Levar Jackson, CEO of Yogh Group. Jackson stated, "Our AlgoHelix technology provides sustainable solutions benefiting people and the planet. Supporting The Living Children's Academy invests directly into a healthier, economically vibrant community."

Alumni and aspiring surgeons, Binta Sawo and Aja Fatou Camara, expressed gratitude, emphasizing the essential nature of this support for current and future students. Their testimonies illustrate charitable initiatives' real-world impacts, particularly for young women overcoming historical barriers.

How You Can Help: NEWH invites members, partners, and the broader community to:
  • Participate financially
  • Donate educational items
  • Assist in awareness campaigns

All resources will be consolidated and shipped directly to The Gambia in June 2025.
