LAS VEGAS - Nyenta -- Week 1 of the NFL season is here, and with it comes the chance for big surprises. According to a new analysis from OddsTrader.com - OddsTrader's Top NFL Week 1 Longshots - several underdogs stand out as potential longshots to shake up the season's opening slate.

With spreads of 5.5 points or more in five games, early-season volatility means bettors should keep an eye on these upset candidates:
  • New York Giants (+6) at Washington Commanders — Veteran QB Russell Wilson could bring stability to a franchise eager to bounce back from a 3-14 season. He's already proven capable against Washington defenses in the past.
  • Cleveland Browns (+5.5) vs Cincinnati Bengals — Despite Cincinnati's Super Bowl hopes, Joe Burrow and the Bengals have historically stumbled out of the gate, posting a 7-10-1 record in September since 2020. With Joe Flacco back under center, Cleveland may spoil Week 1.
  • Tennessee Titans (+8) at Denver Broncos — Rookie quarterback Cam Ward, the first overall draft pick, makes his NFL debut against a Denver defense that ranked third last year. With recent rookies like C.J. Stroud and Jayden Daniels thriving early, Ward could deliver another shocker.

"Week 1 is always unpredictable. Teams are still finding their footing, and history tells us this is the best time to expect the unexpected," said Garrett Chorpenning, a prominent  OddsTrader NFL analyst.
