NEW YORK, June 12, 2025 ~ New York Road Runners (NYRR) made a big splash at the 2025 Tribeca Festival with the premiere of their first-ever documentary short film, "Final Finishers." The nonprofit organization, known for producing 60 annual adult and youth races including the iconic TCS New York City Marathon, hosted a special screening of the film to a packed audience.
The event was attended by notable figures in the running community, including NYRR CEO Rob Simmelkjaer and two-time Emmy Award-winning director Rudy Valdez. Executive producers Berry Welsh and Jacqui Moore were also present, along with cast members Martinus Evans, Janelle Hartman, Michael Ring, and Latoya Snell.
The 30-minute documentary, co-produced by NYRR's new content studio East 89th St Productions and Tribeca Studios, shines a spotlight on the often overlooked participants at the back of the pack during races. Against the vibrant backdrop of New York City, "Final Finishers" celebrates these unsung heroes and their determination to cross the finish line.

Following the screening, guests were treated to an afterparty presented by NYRR Foundation Partner New Balance. Among those in attendance were New Balance executives Melissa Worth and Tom Carleo, as well as Olympic medalist and former TCS New York City Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi. Olympians Beverly Ramos, Conner Mantz, and Clayton Young also joined in on the festivities.
The creation of "Final Finishers" aligns with NYRR's mission to promote healthier lives and stronger communities through running. The film is just one example of how NYRR continues to use its platform to inspire others through storytelling.
