The Pioneers de Quebec team will play in the new Basketball Super League in December 2023
NEW YORK - Nyenta -- Quebec and basketball fans will be able to follow the Pioneers of Quebec in the Basketball Super League (BSL), which will represent a major investment of $1.5 million, thru the initiative of businessman Cyrille Poitevineau Millin. Mr. Poitevineau Millin/CEO and founder of Les Pionniers, will spend the next few weeks in Europe, with the aim of meeting some of the investors in the project, such as Alain Tingaud.
"With the Pioneers, we will be playing on great grounds against teams across Canada/United States. We will host home games to deliver on our vision of putting the local community first and to encourage and develop the basketball community in Quebec by creating major events. Our goal is to make our project and our team accessible and available to as many people as possible, without cultural or financial barriers. We want people to discover basketball, as well as all the unifying, festive and spectacular things it can bring!--Cyrille Poitevineau Millin.

The sporting direction of the project is provided by David Petroziello, a native of the Quebec region and has more than 25 years of experience in the field of basketball in Canada and around the world.
The BSL season includes 32 games, including 20 home games in an arena in the Quebec City region and 12 away games split between Canada and the United States. This season will run from December to May. This new top-tier league is positioning itself as a top option for basketball fans outside of the markets served by the NBA and G League. Being a winter league, it will also allow professional athletes from Canada to play here rather than exporting to Europe or elsewhere during this time of year. BSL will bring together the most successful players and teams in North America, with 10-12 teams in markets such as New York, Ohio, Michigan, Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario and Quebec.
"BSL will be a top league that players aspire to enter and stay in for a long time. Venues will be big and player salaries will be high, with no salary caps," says league general manager Evelyn Magley.

BSL will have a deep commitment to community and bringing together fans, players and communities. "These teams are making a tangible difference in the communities where they are located. Players travel to schools, youth shelters, food banks and community events to teach real life skills to young people who need role models. In addition to bringing the best possible professional basketball to communities, they will have an impact on them every day," --BSL President David Magley.
