~ Mayor Malik D. Evans of Rochester is extending an invitation to local professionals and youth between the ages of 14 and 18 to attend the Mayor's Mentor Up Gala on Saturday, December 14th. This event is part of the Mayor's Mentor Up program, which aims to establish lasting mentorship relationships between adult community role models and young individuals in the city.

The deadline to apply for this opportunity is Friday, November 8th. Interested parties can visit www.CityofRochester.gov/MentorUP to learn more and submit their applications.

In a statement, Mayor Evans expressed his pride in the youth who have already participated in the Mentor Up program and his gratitude towards the mentors who have stepped up to support them. The Mentor Up Winter Gala will be a formal event that also promises to be fun for all attendees. It will provide an opportunity for young individuals to practice their networking skills with peers and leaders, potentially leading to natural mentor-mentee partnerships and even career opportunities.

One mentee, Takiyah Reid, shared her positive experience with the program after participating for the first time over the summer.
