~ As the holiday season approaches, the City of Rochester's Crisis Intervention Services Unit is reminding families that they are not alone in their struggles. The unit is urging city residents to take advantage of the community resources and support services available to help them navigate what can be a difficult time.
According to the American Psychological Association, nearly nine out of ten people experience heightened levels of stress during the months of November and December. This can be due to a variety of reasons, such as financial concerns or missing loved ones who have passed away or are estranged.
Mayor Malik D. Evans emphasized the importance of reaching out for help during this time, stating, "We want the community to know that there is help for anyone who may be struggling around this time of year." He encouraged families to check on one another and share information about the resources and support services offered by both the City and local organizations.
