Rochester: Free Financial Wellness Workshops Saturday

~ Rochester, NY- The Mayor's Office of Financial Empowerment, in collaboration with the New York State Comptroller's Office and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, will be hosting a free financial wellness workshop on Saturday, October 12th at the RIT Downtown Center for Urban Entrepreneurship.

The event, which will run from noon to 4 p.m., aims to provide valuable tools and resources for families to effectively manage their finances and build a secure future. Mayor Malik D. Evans expressed his gratitude towards Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli and the N.Y. State Society of CPAs for their commitment to the community.

"Understanding personal finance is crucial for creating a stable future, and these workshops will equip families with the knowledge they need to thrive," said Mayor Evans.

Comptroller DiNapoli also emphasized the importance of financial literacy in achieving economic stability and improving one's quality of life.

The workshop will feature Certified Public Accountants who will share insights on various topics such as preparing for a child's future through college savings, managing debt effectively, and saving during the holiday season. The workshop schedule is as follows: 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Debt Management and Saving for the Holidays, 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. - Preparing for Your Child's Future.
