~ As the city of Rochester continues to celebrate its diverse community, the International Plaza is gearing up for a special event to honor the life and impact of Malcolm X. Located at 828 N. Clinton Ave, the Plaza will host a Malcolm X Celebration and Artistic Showcase on Sunday, May 18 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The event will feature talented black community artists who will share their creative talents with attendees. In addition, there will be food and live music to round out the afternoon. This celebration is part of the International Plaza's ongoing Sunday community cultural event series, which aims to showcase the contributions of different cultures and traditions to Rochester's cultural and economic vibrancy.

The International Plaza, a partnership between the City of Rochester and the Ibero American Development Corporation, serves as a cornerstone in Rochester's Northeast neighborhoods. It offers a welcoming space for families and visitors to enjoy music, food, culture, and more. The Plaza also regularly hosts community organizations that provide information on valuable citizen services and resources.

For those planning to attend the Malcolm X Celebration and Artistic Showcase, carpooling, walking, cycling or using public transit is encouraged as parking at the Plaza is limited.
