~ The final ROC the Block Community Employment Fair will be held on Wednesday, September 25th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parcel 5, located at 285 E. Main St. This event is part of a series of neighborhood-based hiring initiatives that aim to connect job seekers with businesses and recruiters in a fun and local block-party atmosphere.
Residents attending the fair will not only have the opportunity to explore employment opportunities, but also learn about various community resources. Over 175 employers and agencies, including well-known companies such as Amazon, University of Rochester, and Auto Zone, will be present at the event.
One unique aspect of this particular employment fair is the presence of members from the City's Office of Management and Budget. This will be their first appearance at one of seven pop-up community events aimed at gathering input for the City's fiscal year 2025-2026 budget. Mayor Evans plans to submit his budget proposal to City Council by May 9th, 2025 and is seeking public input early in the process to ensure that community voices are heard and considered in budget decisions.

In addition to these pop-up events, an online survey has been launched and a telephone town hall is scheduled for October 28th. To participate in the survey or see a full list of pop-up events, visit www.cityofrochester.gov/budget.
The ROC the Block Community Employment Fair is hosted by City Council President Miguel Meléndez, along with support from the City/County RASE Commission and the City Department of Recreation and Human Services.
