~ The City of Rochester has recently obtained a copy of the Department of Justice's complaint from the federal filing system, despite not being officially served. According to the city, the complaint appears to be more of a political move rather than a legitimate legal action. The city stands by its Sanctuary City policy, stating that it has always been legally sound, even during the Trump Administration's first term. The city plans to vigorously defend its policies and use this opportunity to hold the federal government accountable for any attempts to commandeer local resources in violation of the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution. The city remains committed to prioritizing public safety for all residents and will not participate in immigration enforcement on behalf of the federal government.
