Join the call to action to right a wrong to our Veterans and their families
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Nyenta -- 11 million gallons of the chemical defoliant Agent Orange was sprayed in Vietnam, affecting 3 million Vietnam veterans & their families with life-threatening diseases and cancers. Bluntly said, Agent Orange has killed significantly more Vietnam veterans than the Viet Cong did. And it was not just the Vietnam veterans who had been exposed to this toxic herbicide but also those who served in Korea as well. Agent Orange has been documented to cause various cancers including Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and neurological disorders such as Parkinson's Disease in these veterans, as well various birth defects and other health problems in their children and grandchildren.

Yet our government has never given our brave men and women service personnel the compensation they so desperately deserve. To try to right this wrong, former Congressional member John Kato had introduced the Lawrence J. Hackett Jr. Vietnam Veterans Agent Orange Fairness Act not once but twice. Both times it never even made it to the floor for discussion. If it had made it to the floor and passed it would have required the VA to conduct a comprehensive review and make recommendations about care and compensation based on exposure for veterans and their families. And that is why I ask if you can go to change.org and sign the petition and spread the word through social media to ask Congress to consider legislation like the Lawrence J. Hackett bill..
