In a heartfelt message, Dr. Vickers recognizes the Foundation's vital role in supporting bone marrow transplant patients through financial and emotional challenges.

NEW YORK - Nyenta -- The Icla da Silva Foundation proudly honored Dr. Selwyn M. Vickers, President and CEO of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), at its annual Hope Gala in New York City on October 14, 2025. Dr. Vickers, a distinguished surgeon and healthcare leader, was recognized for his dedication to advancing cancer care and his shared commitment to supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.

Though unable to attend the Foundation's annual Hope Gala, Dr. Vickers shared a video message underscoring the Foundation's importance in helping patients overcome barriers to life-saving bone marrow transplants.

"Cancer is an arduous journey, creating financial and emotional distress," Dr. Vickers said. "The Icla da Silva Foundation is an important partner in helping patients navigate this difficult journey by providing hope and support to patients in the midst of these stressful experiences."

Dr. Vickers emphasized the vital partnership between clinical care and the generosity and support that make treatment possible. The Foundation's mission—to remove barriers for patients scheduled to receive bone marrow transplants—complements MSK's clinical excellence by addressing the real-world challenges that patients face.
