BRONX, N.Y. - Nyenta -- Today, We Got Next Sports (WGX), a nonprofit organization that positively influences youth through sports, announced the launch of its female-focused initiative 'She Got Next'. Aimed at breaking down institutional barriers for female athletes, the initiative encourages girls to participate in sports beyond the statistical ages when they drop out.
We Got Next Sports (WGX), uses sports as a tool to inspire and motivate young athletes through basketball. The New York citywide program provides kids and teens within underserved communities access to resources and equipment, enabling them to learn, play, and reach their full potential. Empowering the future generation of female athletes, 'She Got Next' will address the important issue of gender equality in athletics as well as increase access to sports.
"We are thrilled to be launching this initiative to get young girls engaged in sports, as there are so many benefits to support their development both on and off the court, said Antione Noble, Founder and Executive Director of WGX. At WGX, we believe it's important we serve New York City's youth to enhance their playing experience and make sports more equitable for the next generation of female athletes and leaders."

As part of the initiative, girls between the ages of 6-18 will have access to a robust suite of athletic resources, support, and mentorship. Female participants will be able to receive curriculum and basketball training designed to enhance gameplay to create well-rounded players and the necessary development to help them contribute on and off the court. Female participants will walk away learning fundamental leadership skills, core values of the game, teamwork, and responsibility.
Serving as a catalyst for tomorrow's leaders, WGX is committed to creating quality experiences for all young athletes, regardless of race, gender or socioeconomic background. This initiative reflects the organizations' commitment to the community to ensure the benefits of team sports are provided to the children who need them.
