Yonkers, NY ~ Yonkers, NY - In a move to celebrate and honor the diverse Hispanic community in Yonkers, Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation & Conservation have successfully renamed Daylighting III as El Parque de la Cultura or Culture Park. This decision was made with the approval of the Yonkers Parks Board.
Located on the corner of Nepperhan Avenue and New Main Street, Culture Park is not only the first neighborhood park in Yonkers to have a bilingual sign, but it is also the first park dedicated to showcasing the influence of Hispanic culture in the city. This recognition is a testament to Yonkers' commitment to embracing all communities within its borders.

According to Yonkers Parks Commissioner Steve Sansone, this park holds great significance as it recognizes how Latino culture has enriched and impacted the city over the past 20 years. He further added that this park serves as a tribute to how this community has positively contributed to Yonkers' progress.
Culture Park was opened in 2018 as one of three parks designed by Yonkers to create open green spaces while preserving the ecology of Saw Mill River. With its new name and purpose, Culture Park will continue to serve as a gathering place for all members of the community while celebrating and honoring Hispanic culture.
