YONKERS, NY ~ Yonkers, NY - The City of Yonkers has had a record-breaking year in the film industry, generating nearly $900,000 in revenue in 2024. This marks the most successful year since the establishment of the Mayor's Office of Film and Photography in 2012.
Mayor Mike Spano proudly announced this achievement, stating that "the word is out, Yonkers is Hollywood on Hudson." He credited the hard work and partnerships that have been created to make Yonkers a top location for television and film productions. The city is looking forward to even more growth in 2025.
In 2024, Yonkers was featured in 124 days of filming for various projects including feature films, television series, commercials, and editorial photography. The most popular productions were "Raising Kanan Power Book III" with 58 days of filming and Mesquite Productions' "Long Bright River" with 13 days. Some of the top public locations used for filming were Yonkers City Hall, Hudson River Museum, Oakland Cemetery, and Untermyer Gardens.
One notable production that filmed in Yonkers was the Golden Globe-winning television series "The Penguin," starring Colin Farrell. They filmed along Saratoga Avenue and Lawrence Street. Other popular street locations included Saw Mill River Road, Waverly Street, Kent Road and Lake Avenue.

Yonkers also played host to several noteworthy films and TV series such as "The Bride" at Alder Manor, "On the End" at Yonkers City Hall, "Recess" at JFK Marina and various on-location sites, "Elsbeth" at Yonkers City Hall,"The Gilded Age" at Hudson River Museum,"FBI: Most Wanted" at Untermyer Gardens and various on-location sites,"Evil" at Yonkers City Hall,and "Law & Order: SVU" also at Yonkers City Hall.
The City of Yonkers has become a prime destination for film production due to its convenient location, diverse geography, and rich history. Situated along the Hudson River just north of Manhattan, Yonkers falls within the 25-mile "Studio Zone" radius extending outward from Columbus Circle. Additionally, it is home to Lionsgate at Great Point Studios, with four campuses soon to be completed. This facility offers over 1,000,000 square feet of environmentally sustainable stages, office space, support areas, mill space, and city street backlots. It is the most comprehensive video and film production facility on the East Coast.
Since the creation of the Office of Film and Photography by Mayor Spano, Yonkers has generated a total of $5.5 million in film revenue. This revenue is then sent to the City's General Fund.
